Highlights From Fazel Atrachali's Career

  • Fazel Atrachali age was just 11 years old when he was attracted towards wrestling, but due to lack of resources in his home town, his interested dropped towards Football, and later shifted to Kabaddi.
  • Iranian defender made his debut in the national team at 2010 Asian Games, while his Pro Kabaddi League career was started in season 2 in the year 2015, from the Mumbai based franchise, U Mumba.
  • He made his debut against Daband Delhi K.C. and scored two tackle points in the winning contribution of U Mumba beating the opponent with the score of 29-25. In his second match, Fazel Atrachali scored seven tackle points and helped U Mumba to win with 39-34 over Puneri Paltan.
  • These seven points were the highest tackle points scored in a single match in season 2. This way Fazel Atrachali announced him solid defence to the world, scoring 12 tackle points in just five matches he played in PKL 2015.
  • U Mumba clinched the title of 2015 season of Pro Kabaddi League, and Fazel Atrachali earned the honour of holding his first title in the first-ever season.
  • In season 3 of PKL, Fazel Atrachali got more chances and amongst the first choice in playing seven of the team. He played overall 11 matches and scored 32 tackle points, helping U Mumba to top the league stage, and entering into the semifinal and final of PKL 2016 held in the month of January.
  • But, unfortunately, they lost the final by the narrow margin of just three points, losing 31-28 from Patna Pirates who claimed their first title.
  • Six months later, Pro Kabaddi League came with another season in June 2016. Season 4 of PKL was magical for Fazel Atrachali. He moved to Patna Pirates this time, and along with Pardeep Narwal, this team became unbeatable.
  • Pardeep was scoring raids, and Fazel was defending the best. He scored overall 52 tackle points in just 15 matches and topped the list of best defenders in the league.
  • Fazel Atrachali scored four High 5s and seven Super Tackles, helping his team to clinch the Pro Kabaddi League title 2016. Patna Pirates won the league title the second time, and Fazel Atrachali became the first foreign player to hold the trophy twice.
  • This left corner defender from Iran now joined Gujrata Fortunegaints for the season 5 of Pro Kabaddi League which was another great season for this champ. His 57 tackle points in just 24 matches include three super tackles and four high 5s.
  • He single handily took Gurjrat Fortunegaints into the final of the PKL 2017, his fourth final in a row, where they lost before Patna Pirates who clinched their three consecutive titles of the league.
  • Fazel Atrachali defence was a treat to watch in the league. His perfect balance, his strength to hold the raider back, and his cool mindset and calmness to react at the right time earned him lots of fans and respect in the league.
  • U Mumba re-signed Fazel Atrachali for the season 6 of Pro Kabaddi League, making the deal of 1 crore which was the highest on any foreign player in the history of PKL.
  • They named him as the captain, and he put his best performance with 83 tackle points in just 23 matches, helping his team to reach into the knockout stage of the league.
  • Fazel Atrachali, unfortunately, could not help his team to win in the eliminator against UP Yoddha and lost by 34-29.
  • He was in the list of top three defenders of the season just behind Nitesh Kumar (100) and Parvesh Bhainswal (86).
  • Fazel Atrachali, was the part of Iran national Kabaddi team who lost in the final of 2016 Kabaddi World Cup against India, when Ajay Thakur put a master class performance, along with Rahul Chaudhari, and captain cool Anup Kumar.
  • While in 2018 Asian Games, Iran Kabaddi team won gold and achieved a milestone for their country because of Fazel's great skills and performance on the kabaddi mat.
