Ajay Thakur's Career

The boy from Himachal Pradesh was inspired to take up the Kabaddi by his own cousin, Rakesh who had already represented India in Kabaddi at international level. Also, his father was a state level wrestler while working in the police department.

His 14 years of professional experience in Kabaddi, includes his transfers in three clubs in pro kabaddi league as well as the unbeaten performance in the Kabaddi World Cup 2016, where he was the man of the tournament with 68 points, with the best performance in the final, when he scored 12 raid points vs Iran, and helped Indian Kabaddi Team to life their third consecutive World Cup in 2016.

While in Pro Kabaddi League, after playing initial two seasons for Bengaluru Bulls which finished third in both season, in season 4, he was signed by Puneri Paltan for next two seasons which were not too good for him.

Then in season 5 of PKL, he was signed by Tamil Thalaivas, where he finished with total points 222, with 213 raid points which is his most overwhelming performance among all the seasons.

He is on the list of all-time top five raiders of Pro Kabaddi League. with Rahul Chaudhary, Anup Kumar, and Pradeep Narwal.
